Emerson MWG9111SL Microwave
I purchased this microwave a little less than a year ago. Two nights ago, it just stopped working. Some electrical issue, just shorted out. I contacted Emerson customer service. I ALWAYS register my purchases, fill out warranty information, what-have-you. I was told that they DO NOT honor any warranty without a receipt! Upon further research, found out this particular unit is PRONE to electrical shorts and in some cases even started “arcing” causing a “lightening storm” within the unit! This item is no longer available because of this issue, but was NOT recalled even though it is a potential fire hazard! Emerson REFUSES to rectify this issue, even though it is a CLEAR MANUFACTURER DEFECT!!! I will NEVER purchase another Emerson item again, purely due to the REFUSAL of “customer service” to accept any sort of responsibility for this issue.
I could have purchased a smaller, less expensive microwave, but decided to go with a sleeker design with seemingly awesome extra features. Instead, less than a year later, I’m out over $100 for a piece of hazardous JUNK!
